The 76th Independence Day of India was celebrated in Dibrugarh district today. The 76th Independence Day was celebrated in Dibrugarh Constituency by Hon'ble MLA Shri Prashant Phukan, Dibrugarh District Commissioner Shri Biswajit Pegu, Superintendent of Police Shri Shwetank Mishra, administrative officers, officers of various departments, employees, and journalists. In his speech, Shri Atul Bora, Guardian Minister of Dibrugarh District, remembered the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, and paid tribute to many known and unknown dignitaries who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country. He mentioned the freedom achieved through the sacrifice of many prominent leaders and great souls known and unknown who was born in Dibrugarh. He thanked the people for their widespread participation in the "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" and "Har Ghar Triranga" programs in Dibrugarh. He also mentioned the successful implementation of many major schemes and projects in Assam and said that Assam will move forward in the coming stages and a new image will be established. The program included a greeting by the Chief Guest, a parade and military band performance, and a cultural program.
